Recommended Method:

As in all cleaning procedures, the first step is to gather the recommended janitorial equipment and supplies together and bring to the area to be cleaned.

Identify The Spot:

Your first step in carpet cleaning and spot removal is identifying the spot. It might be possible by asking someone who works in the area and also the age of the spot.

Note the appearance, location, color, size, shape, feel and smell. Characteristics are all excellent clues in determining what caused the spot.

If possible, determine what caused the spot. Choose the appropriate cleaning chemical and procedure.

Remove excess soils be gently scraping the affected area with a blunt-edged scraping device. If the spot is moist, blot any excess before beginning.

Try blotting the spot first with white absorbent cloth dampened with water. Next, select the proper spotting chemical after you have identified the spot. Before you begin, always test the spotting chemical in an inconspicuous area to ensure color fastness or for possible fiber damage.

Apply (spray) the spotting chemical directly to the affected area. Do not over wet. On large spots, apply the chemical from the outside edges in towards the center.

Agitate gently with a soft brush to work the spotter into the face fiber of the carpet. Avoid deep or heavy agitation with the brush. This could cause damage or distort the carpet fiber. Work the brush in every direction around the fibers…back and forth, front and back and diagonally to reach all sides of the fiber.

After the proper time (according to the product label directions), blot the area with a clean white absorbent cloth or plain paper towel, removing the loosened soil or excess spotter.

If the spot has not been removed, repeat the previous 4 steps until soil has been completely removed. Be very careful not to over-wet the carpet.

Apply a spray or mist of water to the area you have cleaned and blot immediately with a clean, white cloth, rinsing the chemical from the carpet. Extraction equipment can be used in place of this procedure.

Vacuum area after carpet dries thoroughly.

If Not Removed:

Use light mixture of soap/detergent, water and white blotting cloth. Blot to see if spot comes up. Rinse and vacuum area.

If Still Not Removed:

Use water base spotter or solvent base spotter (depending on type of spot). Never use solvent base first!!!

Blot with a white cloth. Never rub a spot or stain!!!

Reapply spotter. Rinse with soap/detergent, water and blotting cloth. Never use hot water!!!

Let dry and vacuum

Allow time to clean up and return the cleaning equipment to the storage area.

Easy Office Cleaning Tips

If you happen to spend many hours in the office, then you are likely aware of the gathering dust all over the place as time goes by. After all, the last thing we need is dust all over our belongings, choking us every time we move things.

The following tips will give you some basic pointers to how you can approach the subject:

  • Paper is still one of the greatest offenders when it comes to chaos in the office. Although your job may be different from the classic idea of office work, chances are you still work with a good bit of paper. You should make sure you remove everything you don't need at the office desk and file it away for later use. This will greatly help in reducing the amount of clutter, making cleaning a much easier chore than it would be otherwise.
  • Another thing worth mentioning is that you should never eat over your keyboard, as this would make things really hard to clean. On the other hand antistatic wipes will greatly help when cleaning your electronics and your desk. You would also do well to make sure you keep things simple around your desk, avoiding too many decorations so cleaning will be easier when it needs to be done. If your keyboard has bread crumbs or bits of hair inside, then you may need to remove the keys and clean under them.
  • A lot of people like to have plenty of personal belongings around their work space, which is all well and good until they start getting in the way. You would do well to take heed when it goes too far however, as it will make cleaning more difficult than it has to be. You should take time each week or even every day to clean out the clutter, keeping things in order. Make sure you have few decorations, so you would have an easier time keeping the place looking good and clean.
  • A key to making sure your office cleaning is successful and the space is easy to clean, is to keep everything in its rightful place. This means you need to not only work on de-cluttering your work space, but also making sure its second nature for you to put things in order at the end of each day when you’re done.
  • All your pens, business cards, calendars, coffee cups as well as anything else that you can consider decorations or otherwise should be kept to a minimum. They may bring some level of comfort to your work space, but in the end they will only collect dust and you'll then need to clean all of them.
  • When it comes down to it, you would do well to an antibacterial spray around, especially when it comes to your keyboard and mouse. These will help sanitize them on a regular basis as you work, so you won’t suffer the effects of bacteria present on them.

Why your medical facility needs a good floor stripping and waxing

Your medical facility rarely has a slow day. Everyone’s moving around the facility and busy with their own work. When something spills onto the floor or someone’s shoe leaves a scuff mark, most people quickly try to clean up the mess and move on.

Over time, however, these messes and scuffs can really take their tolls on your floors. If you’re not having your medical facility’s floors stripped and waxed regularly, you may need to replace your floors more frequently, and you could be letting harmful germs and bacteria linger in your facility.

Not sure if your medical facility needs a good floor stripping and waxing in Maryland? Here is why you need these services and how they can benefit your facility overall.

Protect against mold and mildew

When moisture becomes trapped in your floors, mold and mildew can form, and you’ll need a good floor cleaning in Maryland to get rid of the problem.

An industrial cleaning in Maryland go over your floors and look for any signs of mold or mildew that can get into cracks and crevices that your daily cleaners might miss. Floor stripping and waxing will help you catch these molds and mildews before they cause serious damage to your building.

Catching mold and mildew early on can also help you pinpoint exactly what is causing these harmful agents to form. A regularly scheduled industrial cleaning in Maryland will stop these molds before they become serious problems.

Keeping your facility clean

Have you ever walked into a medical facility and immediately noticed dirt and other debris on the floor? Your clients and employees definitely do.

For medical facilities, cleanliness is a top priority, and a floor cleaning in Maryland can help keep it a top priority. Harmful bacteria can ruin the work some of your employees are doing, and they can make employees as well as clients sick. With more employees out sick, less work gets done and you have to pay out more sick days.

Dirt looks bad to your customers and employees, and it reflects badly on you - the employer. Some customers and employees might think your business is too cheap to have an industrial cleaning in Maryland. Clients may look for other medical facilities to work with, and your employees might start looking for jobs elsewhere.

Keep your facility clean with a good floor cleaning in Maryland.

Long-term care

Think of your medical facility’s floors like your phone. If you take good care of your phone - buy a protective case, avoid dropping it, keeping it away from water - then it’ll last you for years. If you’re constantly dropping it and leaving it in places where it could be accidentally broken, then it won’t be long before you need to replace it.

The floors of your medical facility are the same way. If you don’t have regular floor stripping and waxing in Maryland, then all that wear and tear on your floors could affect how long it is before you need to replace your floors.

Replacing floors is expensive so make sure you get as much out of your floors as possible.

A good floor stripping and waxing in Maryland can make all the difference for your medical facility. You’ll see less unsightly stains on your floors, and you’ll feel good knowing that you won’t have to replace those floors sooner than needed.
